چکیده
In this paper, Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (BEMD) based Cross Bilateral Filter (CBF) technique for speckle reduction in ultrasound images has been proposed. The reference image is obtained by denoising the noisy using pixel-wise Wiener filtering. Then, both and are decomposed into a set of Intrinsic Functions (IMFs) residue BEMD technique. CBF applied between IMFs corresponding IMFs. reconstructed back with these modified residue. proposed method exploits edge information improving quality denoised image. performance tested real simulated having noise different variance. experimental results show that algorithm performs better than other state-of-art methods terms Edge Keeping Index (EKI), Correlation Coefficient (CC), Figure Merit (FOM), Structural Similarity (SSIM), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) (SNR) synthetic images. gives Mean Variance (MVR) Equivalent Number Looks (ENL).

Speckle Reduction in ultrasound Images using Neighshrink and bilateral filtering
Speckle is a random multiplicative noise which obscures the perception and extraction of fine details in ultrasound images and speckle reduction is necessary to improve the visual quality of ultrasound images for better diagnosis. This study aims at introducing an algorithm by hybridizing bilateral filter with NeighShrink. The bilateral filter is applied before decomposition and after reconstru...
متن کاملSubspace-based technique for speckle noise reduction in ultrasound images
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Ultrasound imaging is a very essential technique in medical diagnosis due to its being safe, economical and non-invasive nature. Despite its popularity, the US images, however, are corrupted with speckle noise, which reduces US images qualities, hampering image interpretation and processing stage. Hence, there are many efforts made by researches to formulate various despe...
متن کاملAn Efficient Filtering Approach for Speckle Reduction in Ultrasound Images
Ultrasound (US) imaging is a valuable imaging technique for clinical diagnosis. It is noninvasive in nature and imaging the internal structure of the body to identify the probabilistic diseases or, abnormalities in tissues behavior. However, inherent response of speckle noise in US images limit the fine and edge details which affect the contrast resolution. This makes clinical diagnosis more di...
متن کاملSpeckle Noise Reduction in Ultrasound Images using Fuzzy Shrinking Technique
An ultrasound image provides the radiologist with noninvasive, low cost, and real-time images that can help them in diagnosis, planning and therapy. However low PSNR (picture signal to noise ratio) in ultrasound images causes difficulties in correct interpretation of ultrasound images. Further speckle noise present in ultrasound images is considered to be the major cause of its low PSNR. In thi...
متن کاملSpeckle Reducing Filtering for Ultrasound images
Speckle noise is undesired result which appear during the image formation process in that is most typically known to occur in the coherent imaging systems for example ultrasound imaging, sonar, lasers, synthetic aperture radar and many more. So the presence of speckle in ultrasound imaging system results in decrease in quality of image and it become quite difficult for human to diagnose and int...
